NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.—Lauren
Lorenz (Frankfort, Ill.) became the fifth women's
volleyball player in program history to tally 1,000 assists as the
Southern New Hampshire Penmen fell to Merrimack College 3-1 in
non-conference action at Volpe Gym on Friday evening. The
loss drops the Penmen to 9-8 overall, while the win boosts the
Warriors to 6-15 on the season.
Lorenz led the Penmen with 28 assists and ten digs on the
evening. She now stands in fifth-place on the career assists leader
board with 1,003.
Danielle
Coffey (Westborough, Mass.) recorded ten kills and
only one error for Southern New Hampshire. Stephanie
Dluginski (Floral Park, N.Y.) added ten kills and
three assists for the Penmen, who fell by scores of 25-15, 19-25,
25-13 and 27-25. Megan Lesczynski (Pine
Bush, N.Y.) finished the evening with 15 digs.
For Merrimack, Alyssa Pickert totaled 18 digs to reach 2,000
career digs. Molly Cindric tallied 18 kills for the Warriors,
while Elyse Lorenz, sister of Penmen Lauren Lorenz, dished out a
game-high 36 assists.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action tomorrow, traveling to
UMass Lowell for a 1:00 p.m. Northeast-10 Conference
matchup.
