LOWELL, Mass.—The Southern New Hampshire University volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to UMass Lowell in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Costello Gym. With the loss, the Penmen fall to 9-9 overall and 5-4 in NE-10 action, while the win boosts the River Hawks to 11-9 overall and 6-4 in the league.
Game scores were 20-25, 24-26, 25-17, 25-16, 15-10.
Stephanie Dluginski (Floral Park, N.Y.) posted a game-high 18 kills for Southern New Hampshire. She also added four blocks. Danielle Coffey (Westborough, Mass.) added ten kills and five blocks. Lauren Lorenz (Frankfort, Ill.) dished out a game-high 42 assists and 11 digs, while Megan Lesczynski (Pine Bush, N.Y.) added 11 digs and nine kills of her own.
The River Hawks were led by Jillian Hadder, who totaled 17 kills and ten digs. Sarah Coscia added 14 kills and 11 blocks, while Kristina Wiltjer, Vicky Wong, and Carolyn Eddy each tallied 16 digs for UMass Lowell. Wiltjer also posted a team-high 38 assists.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Wednesday as they host Merrimack College for a 7:00 p.m. Northeast-10 Conference contest.
