SOUTH EASTON, Mass.
– Freshman outfielder Kate Stanley
(Kingston, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University softball
team was named the Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week, it was
announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
In a 4-0 week, Stanley, a product
of Silver Lake Regional HS, batted .643 (9-14) with four home runs
and six runs batted in. In a 6-1 win over Pace Sunday, she
went 4-4 with two home runs and three runs driven in. Stanley
also delivered a home run in both ends of a doubleheader sweep of
Saint Anselm on Tuesday. She hit safely in all four contests
last week.
For the season, Stanley is
SNHU's second-leading hitter, batting .312 with nine home
runs and 17 RBI. She leads the team in both home runs and
RBI, with her nine home runs a single-season school record.
Stanley also currently leads the Northeast-10 in home runs.
The Southern New Hampshire
University softball team returns to action Wednesday when it
travels to Franklin Pierce University for a 3:00 doubleheader.
