MANCHESTER, N.H.
– Corey Lunney led a balanced Merrimack College
attack with three goals and two assists as the sixth-ranked
Warriors defeated Southern New Hampshire University 15-6 in
Northeast-10 men's lacrosse Tuesday night at Larkin
Field.  Merrimack, which won its third straight, improves to
10-2 and 8-1 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are 4-8 and 2-6 in the
league.
Five different players finished
with multiple goals for Merrimack.  Brad McAdam registered
three goals and an assist, while Bryan MacPhie, Nick Vazquez and
Michael Balbuena each notched a pair of goals.  Mark Webber
added a goal and an assist while Greg Fallon and Ryan Hunt each
recorded single tallies.
Southern New Hampshire was led by
Andrew Brown (Marshfield, Mass.) who had five of
the six Penmen goals.  Keith Merluzzo
(Billerica, Mass.) finished with a goal and two assists while
Terrence Nash (Oceanside, N.Y.) added two
assists.
Lunney scored the only goal of the
first quarter to give Merrimack a 1-0 lead.  The guests scored
the first two goals of the second quarter before Brown got SNHU on
the board 6:10 before halftime.  The Warriors would score four
times in the final 4:43 of the first half, and McAdam's goal
with 13 seconds left made it 7-1 at halftime.
Merrimack would put the game out of
reach by scoring four of the first five goals of the second half,
as McAdam scored with 3:47 left in the third frame to make it
11-2.
Cory Spinale made seven saves in
three quarters of action for Merrimack before giving way to Connor
Regan, who made nine stops over the final 15 minutes. 
Eric Gunst (Exeter, N.H.) made 10 saves for the
Penmen as Merrimack outshot Southern New Hampshire 38-31.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action Saturday when it travels to top-ranked Le Moyne College for
a 1:00 contest.
