FARMINGTON, Conn.—The Southern New Hampshire
University men's golf team compiled an overall score of 649
at the Northeast Intercollegiate Championship at Tunxis Plantation,
finishing tenth in the 12-school tournament. Wilmington (DE)
earned the win with an overall score of 604.
Shane Winslow (Portsmouth, N.H.) was the
highest scorer for the Penmen, coming in 33rd place with
a score of 78 on Saturday and shooting an 81 on Sunday for a
combined 159. Spencer Plante (Springvale,
Maine) and Jeff Atkinson (Lancaster, N.H.) both
finished tied for 41st overall with combined scores of
161. Plante shot a 76 on Saturday and an 85 on Sunday, while
Atkinson shot a 79 and an 82.
Vince Kimball (Lebanon, N.H.) finished Saturday
with a score of 82 and then shot an 86 on Sunday for an overall
score of 168. Chris Weilandt (Franklin,
Mass.) rounded out the Penmen roster with a 84 on Saturday and an
88 on Sunday for an overall score of 172.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on October 3 and 4,
traveling to the Northeast-10 Championship, held at En-Joie Golf
Club in Endicott, N.Y.
