– Freshman James Hickey (Manchester, N.H.)
carded a 77 and finished sixth to lead the Southern New Hampshire
University golf team to a third place tie out of seven teams at
Wednesday's Franklin Pierce Invitational at Bretwood Golf
Course. The Penmen finished with a team score of 325 to
finish 13 strokes back of the host Ravens, who captured the
tournament title.
Hickey's round was the best
of his collegiate career to date. Vince
Kimball (Lebanon, N.H.) finished tied for 15th
with an 82, while Nick Burke (Sandwich, Mass.) and
Ernie Lupi (Bradford, Mass.) each shot an 83 to
finish in a tie for 18th overall. Cody
Carlson (Wellesley, Mass.) rounded out the Penmen
finishers as he carded an 86 to finish in a tie for
25th.
The Southern New Hampshire golf
team rounds out its season October 17-18 at the NEIGA Championship
on Cape Cod.
