COMPLETE NORTHEAST-10 ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball graduate student Julia Houghtaling (Franconia, N.H.) has been named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team, it was announced by the conference office on Friday afternoon. Houghtaling was selected by virtue of a vote of the Conference's 16 head coaches.
Houghtaling, a 6-0 forward who prepped at New Hampton School, leads the Penmen in both scoring (14.8 ppg) and rebounding (9.3 rpg) while ranking sixth in the NE-10 in scoring and third in rebounding. Houghtaling and Northeast-10 Player of the Year Jewel White of Franklin Pierce University are the only two players to appear in the top six of both categories in the league. Houghtaling also ranks eighth in the league in field goal percentage (.497).
Having started all 26 games for the Penmen, Houghtaling has reached double figures in scoring 20 times, scoring at least 20 points six times and at least 30 points twice. She has registered 11 double-doubles on the season and has led the Penmen in scoring 14 times and rebounding 20 times. Houghtaling registered a career-high 33 points in an overtime setback at UMass Lowell on February 8.
For her career, Houghtaling ranks seventh in career scoring at SNHU with 1,157 points, while her 730 rebounds place her fifth all-time in that category. A three-year captain, Houghtaling has appeared in 104 games over her career and been in the starting lineup 99 times.
SNHU returns to action on Sunday when it travels to Stonehill College in the opening round of the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball Championship.
