GUILDERLAND, N.Y.
– The Southern New Hampshire University golf team opened its
2011-12 season with a sixth-place finish out of 11 schools at the
Saint Rose Fall Shootout held Friday and Saturday at Pinehaven
Country Club. The Penmen finished with a two-day total of
636, shooting a 314 on day one and a 322 on Saturday.
Sophomore Chris
Weilandt (Franklin, Mass.) was the top finished for SNHU,
as he placed 13th overall with a two-day total of 155,
shooting a 76 on day two. Nick Burke
(Sandwich, Mass.) and Ernest Lupi (Bradford,
Mass.) were tied for 21st as each shot 77 on Friday and
81 on Saturday. Vince Kimball (Lebanon,
N.H.) was 36th with a two-day total of 165, while
Cody Carlson (Wellesley, Mass.) recorded a two-day
score of 180 to place 54th.
The SNHU golf team returns to
action on Thursday, September 29, when it hosts the fifth annual
SNHU Penmen Invitational at Lake Sunapee Country Club in New
London, N.H.
