PHILADELPHIA – The Southern New Hampshire men's tennis team fell to University of the Sciences 5-4 Friday afternoon. The match marked the season opener for both schools.
In doubles action, the Penmen were victorious at the No. 2 and No.3 spots. Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) and Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) teamed up for an 8-5 victory at No. 2, while John Niland (Cheshire, Conn.) and Jared Wright (Norwell, Mass.) were also 8-5 winners at No. 3.
Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) rallied for a 5-7, 6-2, 10-7 win at No. 2 singles, while Wallace picked up a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 win at No. 4.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action this weekend at the ITA East Regional.
