SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Freshman Mohamed Toufik (Grande-Synthe, France) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team was named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Toufik, a midfielder, scored two goals in his collegiate debut, leading the 16th-ranked Penmen to a 3-0 win over Queens (N.Y.) College on Saturday. His first goal came in the 27th minute to give the Penmen a 2-0 lead, while his second goal of the game came just over four minutes into the second half.
No. 16 Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Wednesday when it opens Northeast-10 play at home against crosstown rival Saint Anselm College. That match is slated for a 7:00 start.
