THE MATCHUP: Southern New Hampshire entertains Pace in a battle of two teams tied for second in the Northeast-10 standings Tuesday night.

THE COACHES: Karen Pinkos is in her seventh season as head coach at Southern New Hampshire...Pinkos has led the Penmen to five Northeast-10 Tournament berths in her first six seasons and to the program's most victories since 1991 in 2008-09 while guiding SNHU to an 18-11 mark...she has compiled a 85-102 record with the Penmen, including a 57-47 mark since the beginning of the 2008-09 season...she spent 16 years as an assistant coach at the Division I level with New Hampshire, Boston College, Providence and Northeastern... Carrie Seymour is in her 20th season as head coach at Pace...she has compiled a 377-205 record at the helm of the Setters and led Pace to eight NCAA Tournaments, including a regional title in 2001.

THE SERIES: Pace holds a 15-5 lead in the series with Southern New Hampshire...the Penmen took down a 60-57 win in the two teams' lone meeting last season in Pleasantville, N.Y....Julia Houghtaling and Michelle DeRoma led a balanced SNHU attack with 15 points apiece, while Sloane Sorrell added 14 points...Carol Johnson led the Setters with 16 points, while Brittany Shields had 14 points and 10 rebounds...the guests led by as many as 11 points in the second half and withstood a late Pace rally.

THE PENMEN: Southern New Hampshire has won five in a row and nine out of 10 and is coming off a 71-60 home win over New Haven Saturday...the Penmen, who are in the "Others Receiving Votes" category of the WBCA Division II poll, have already eclipsed last season's win total...junior Sloane Sorrell leads the Penmen in both scoring (12.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.9 rpg) while shooting 56.2% from the floor, ranking third in the Northeast-10 in field goal percentage...she has had a career-high 30 points in each of the last two games and was named Northeast-10 Player of the Week on Monday...Michelle DeRoma has knocked down a team-best 31 three-pointers and is averaging 10.9 ppg...DeRoma's 31 threes place her sixth in the Northeast-10....Christine Duffy leads the Penmen in assists with 7.4 per game, while she is averaging 9.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per outing...Duffy ranks second nationally in assists per game and recently moved into third place on SNHU's career assist list...she has recorded at least 10 assists on three occasions, including a career-high 13 at Assumption January 7...Megan Smith is averaging 8.7 ppg and 3.6 rpg...she has led the team in scoring four times, including 14 points in a win at Georgian Court...Victoria Wiseman is averaging 6.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game...freshman Lorreta Rocha was 7-7 from the floor December 6 at Stonehill en route to a season-best 14 point performance...she is averaging 5.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game and is a two-time Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week...Brooke Springfield and Megan Spanarkel are adding 4.7 and 4.2 ppg, respectively...the Penmen are shooting .445 overall, .348 from three-point land and .635 at the free throw line while allowing opponents to shoot .403 from the floor and .322 behind the arc...SNHU is scoring 63.9 points per game while allowing 56.9 while outrebounding foes 35.9-35.1...the Penmen currently rank fifth in the Northeast-10 in scoring defense and are ranked second in the league in field goal percentage.

THE SETTERS: Pace has won five straight and is coming off an 88-79 win at UMass Lowell on Saturday...Brittany Shields leads the Setters in both scoring (17.5 ppg) and rebounding (8.7 rpg) while shooting 52.1% from the floor...Carol Johnson is the other Setter in double figures, averaging 10 points per game...Kerri White has knocked down 37 three-pointers and is scoring at a 9.7 ppg clip, while Maral Javadifar is adding 7.7 points per game...Pace is shooting .399 overall, .362 from three-point land and .699 at the free throw line while allowing opponents to shoot .386 from the floor and .295 behind the arc...Pace is scoring 64.5 ppg while allowing 64.5 and getting outrebounded 41.9-41.3.outrebounding opponents 37.9-37.2

WHAT'S NEXT: Southern New Hampshire hits the road for the next two games, traveling to Adelphi on Saturday and Southern Connecticut next Wednesday before returning home to battle American International on January 28.
