BREWSTER, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University golf team finished fifth among Division II schools and 14^th out of 35 schools at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship at The Captains GC Sunday.  The annual two-day event was shortened to 18 holes due to the forecast of severe weather expected to hit New England over the next several days.

The Penmen posted a team score of 327, 16 strokes back of tournament co-champions UMass Lowell and Saint Anselm.

Southern New Hampshire was led by junior Vince Kimball (Lebanon, N.H.), who posted a score of 79 to finish tied for 26^th in a field of 171 golfers.  Classmates Scott Underhill (Bedford, N.H.) and Nick Burke (Sandwich, Mass.) each shot an 81 to finish tied for 51^st on the day.

Ernie Lupi (Bradford, Mass.) posted a score of 86 while Cody Carlson (Wellesley, Mass.) recorded an 87.

The NEIGA Championship concludes the fall portion of the schedule for the SNHU golf team.
