BREWSTER, Mass.
– The Southern New Hampshire University golf team
finished fifth among Division II schools and 14th out of
35 schools at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association
Championship at The Captains GC Sunday. The annual two-day
event was shortened to 18 holes due to the forecast of severe
weather expected to hit New England over the next several days.
The Penmen posted a team score of
327, 16 strokes back of tournament co-champions UMass Lowell and
Saint Anselm.
Southern New Hampshire was led by
junior Vince Kimball (Lebanon, N.H.), who posted a
score of 79 to finish tied for 26th in a field of 171
golfers. Classmates Scott Underhill
(Bedford, N.H.) and Nick Burke (Sandwich, Mass.)
each shot an 81 to finish tied for 51st on the day.
Ernie Lupi
(Bradford, Mass.) posted a score of 86 while Cody
Carlson (Wellesley, Mass.) recorded an 87.
The NEIGA Championship concludes
the fall portion of the schedule for the SNHU golf team.
