Ravens Fly Past Men's Lacrosse, 8-4

RINDGE, N.H.—Eddie Noonan scored three times in the first half to lead the Franklin Pierce University men's lacrosse team to an 8-4 Northeast-10 Conference win against the visiting Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday afternoon.  With the loss, the Penmen fall to 0-3 on the season and 0-1 in NE-10 action, while the win improves the Ravens to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in league play. 

Noonan notched the first goal of the game at the 10:39 mark of the first quarter, and SNHU's Jeremy Buckley (Norwell, Mass.) evened the score at 1-1 2:03 later.  Franklin Pierce's Kevin Dargin responded with back-to-back goals to give the Ravens the 3-1 lead entering the second quarter. 

Noonan opened the second quarter with back-to-back goals, extending the Ravens' lead to 5-1.  Corey Allen (Suffield, Conn.) would notch his third goal of the season with 3:38 remaining in the half on an assist by Greg Reynolds (Scituate, Mass.) to bring the score to 5-2 entering halftime.

Buckley tallied the lone goal of the third quarter, closing the Ravens lead to 5-3 and Ryan Woodford (Scituate, Mass.) closed the gap to 5-4 with 11:38 to play in the game, but Franklin Pierce would answer with three-straight goals by Alex Connelly, Cody MacLellan, and Dargin to take the 8-4 win. 

Brendan O'Brien (Hopkinton, Mass.) totaled 11 saves in net for the Penmen, while Ravens goaltender Don Denman recorded nine saves en route to the win.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Friday, March 23 when it travels to No. 3 Le Moyne College for a 4:00 p.m. Northeast-10 Conference matchup.
