CANTERBURY, N.H.
– The Southern New Hampshire University golf team
sits second out of five schools after day one of the SNHU Penmen
Invitational being held Monday and Tuesday at Canterbury Woods
Country Club. The Penmen, with a team score of 315, sit six
shots back of tournament leader Franklin Pierce University, which
had all five players turn in rounds in the 70s en route to a 309
effort. Saint Anselm College (321), Saint Michael's
College (332) and The College of Saint Rose (332) round out the
field.
Junior Vince
Kimball (Lebanon, N.H.) is currently in a three-way tie
for second place after firing a 76 on Monday, tying him with Jason
Lussier of Saint Anselm and Stew Wise of FPU. The trio sit
one shot back of Brad Auclair who carded a 75.
The Penmen have two other players
currently in the top 10, as Nick Burke (Sandwich,
Mass.) sits all alone in fifth after a round of 78, while
Scott Underhill (Bedford, N.H.) is one of five
players who turned in a 79, good for sixth.
Ernie Lupi
(Bradford, Mass.) finished with an 82, while Cody
Carlson (Wellesley, Mass.) posted an 83.
Jeff Atkinson (Lancaster, N.H.), competing as an
individual, recorded an 85 on Monday.
