VERONA, N.Y.
– Led by a ninth-place finish by junior Ernie
Lupi (Bradford, Mass.), the Southern New Hampshire
University men's golf team finished fifth out of nine schools
at the two-day, 54-hole ADPRO Sports Invitational at Turning Stone
Monday and Tuesday. The Penmen posted an opening-round 303
Monday morning before carding a 326 Monday afternoon, and wrapped
up with a 310 on Tuesday.
Lupi finished in a three-way tie
for ninth overall after posting a score of 228 (73-81-74) over
three rounds to finish 12 over par for the tournament. Junior
Austin Fox (Hooksett, N.H.) posted scores of 76,
78 and 79 for a three-round total of 233, good for a tie for
17th, while senior Scott Underhill
(Bedford, N.H.) placed 23rd with a 237, posting a 76 in
Monday's first round.
Senior Vince
Kimball (Lebanon, N.H.) fired an opening-round 78 and
finished with a three-round total of 241 to finish in a tie for
30th, while classmate Nick Burke
(Sandwich, Mass.) posted his low round for the tournament, an 84,
on Tuesday, and finished 47th with a three-round total
of 256.
The SNHU men's golf team
rounds out its fall schedule Sunday and Monday, October 27-28, when
it competes in the annual NEIGA Championship at The Captains GC in
Brewster, Mass.
