BREWSTER, Mass.
– The Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team
moved up five spots to finish tied for 21st out of 38
teams and tied for fourth among eight Division II schools at the
2012 New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA)
Championship Monday at The Captains Golf Course. The Penmen
posted a 320 on the par-72, 6724-yard Port Course and registered a
two-day total of 627.
Junior Ernie Lupi
(Bradford, Mass.) and senior Scott Underhill
(Bedford, N.H.) led the Penmen as they finished tied for
52nd overall among 189 players over the two-day
tournament with a score of 159. Lupi made one of the
tournament's biggest jumps, shooting a 75 on Monday to move
up 74 places. Underhill shot a 78 on Monday to follow up an
opening-round 81.
Freshman John
Clancy (Sandwich, Mass.), SNHU's leader after round
one, shot an 83 Monday to finish with a two-day total of 162 and in
a tie for 81st. Junior Austin Fox
(Hooksett, N.H.) shot his second consecutive 84 to finish at 168,
while senior Cody Carlson (Wellesley, Mass.)
wrapped up with a two-day score of 170.
