MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Southern New Hampshire men's lacrosse team rallied back in the fourth quarter to defeat Pace University by a score of 14-12 in Northeast -10 Conference play Saturday afternoon. The Penmen are now 2-4 overall and improve to 2-0 in the league, while the Setters are 3-2 and fall to 0-2 in the conference.

The Penmen win was fueled by a pair of hat-tricks from Rob Murray (Marblehead, Mass.) and Cameron Joyce (Braintree, Mass). Four other SNHU players would also score as Phil LaTorre (Londonderry, N.H.), Jeremy Buckley (Norwell, Mass.), Kevin Goodfellow (Wayland, Mass.) and Corey Allen (Suffield, Conn.) all netted two goals apiece.  

The Penmen would enter the fourth quarter with 9-8 deficit, but back-to-back goals from Allen and Buckley would prove to be the difference as give SNHU would go on to outscore Pace 6-3 in the fourth en route to the win.

Southern New Hampshire, who led through the midway point of the third quarter, would fall behind the Setters after giving up four unanswered goals in the third frame.

In the first quarter, The Penmen jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with goals from LaTorre and Allen. Joyce would also notch a goal with 22 seconds remaining in the quarter to push the lead to 3-1 heading into the second. Four more goals from Murray, LaTorre, Goodfellow and Buckley in the second quarter would give the Penmen a 7-5 at the half.

Morgan Weireter (Oak Park, Calif.) would earn his first win of the season while saving three shot and splitting the time in goal with Crosby Nicholson (Andover, Mass.) who recorded four saves.  For Pace, Timothy Izzo and Connor Brophy would also split the time in the net recording seven and four saves, respectively.

The Penmen will look for their third win in a row Tuesday March 26 when they host league opponent Saint Michael's College for a 7:00 p.m. start on Larkin Field.
