MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Southern New Hampshire men's lacrosse team fell to Le Moyne College 17-8 Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Larkin Field. The Penmen are now 5-9 overall and 5-5 in the conference, while the Dolphins improve to 11-2 overall and 8-2 in league play.

Southern New Hampshire netted the first goal of the game just three minutes into the first quarter to take a quick 1-0 lead when senior John Cuozzo (Norfolk, Mass) scored his fourth goal of the season. However, Le Moyne answered shortly after to tie the game at 1-1. The Penmen took a 2-1 lead when Rob Murray (Marblehead, Mass) notched his first of four goals in the game and his twelfth of the year, but three Le Moyne goals to end the quarter gave the Dolphins a 4-2 lead heading into the second.

The Dolphins scored the next six goals in the second frame to boost the lead to 10-2, until Murray scored his second tally of the game to cut the deficit to seven goals before the half.

The teams each scored three goals in the third quarter, while Murray notched two more, and Cameron Joyce (Braintree, Mass) recorded his tenth goal on the season to bring SNHU within seven once again. But the three Le Moyne goals helped the Dolphins pull away 13-6 leading in to the final quarter of play.

Phil LaTorre (Londonderry, NH) and Corey Allen (Suffield, Conn.) each recorded a goal in the final quarter, while the Dolphins registered four more making the final score 17-8.

Morgan Weireter (Oak Park, Calif.) recorded 21 saves in net for the Penmen, while Jeff White and Pat Brothers recorded four and one saves, respectively, for Le Moyne.

The Penmen return to action Saturday, April 27 when they travel to American International College for a 3:00 p.m. league game.
