Box Score NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire men's lacrosse team fell to Merrimack College by a score of 15-3 Saturday evening in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Martone-Mejail Field. The Penmen are now 3-7 overall and 3-3 in the conference, while the Warriors improve to 6-1 and 5-0 in league play.
Merrimack scored the first goal of the game just three minutes into the first quarter to take a quick 1-0 lead, but SNHU answered when Taylor Warden (Concord, N.H.) notched his third goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1. The Warriors took the lead again 30 seconds later, and owned the lead for the remainder of the game. Three more first quarter goals boosted the lead to 5-1 heading into the second frame, and Merrimack recorded two more goals before the half.
The Penmen scored once more in the third quarter when Cameron Joyce (Braintree, Mass.) connected on a pass from Rob Murray (Marblehead, Mass.) for his 18th goal of the season, but five more Merrimack goals pulled the Warriors away from SNHU and they took a 12-2 lead into the final quarter.
Corey Allen (Londonderry, N.H.) notched the final Penmen goal in the fourth, while the Warriors registered three more.
Morgan Weireter (Oak Park, Calif.) recorded 11 saves in net for the Penmen, while Connor Reagan totaled 12 saves for Merrimack.
The Penmen return to action Tuesday, April 9 when they host Franklin Pierce in a league game at 7:00 p.m.
