Dobek, Wallace Capture Title at Stonehill Doubles Invitational

EASTON, Mass. – Senior Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) and junior Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team teamed up to take the A flight championship at Saturday's Stonehill Doubles Invitational at Charles Watt Tennis Courts.

In Saturday's quarterfinals, Dobek and Wallace downed Ryan Sullivan and Jimmy Ye of Holy Cross 8-3 before besting Eric Ringstad and Brett Armstrong of Stonehill 8-5 in the semifinals.  The pair faced another Skyhawk duo in the finals, defeating Nick Hyzak and Philip Klados 8-2 to capture the championship.

In other action, Mark Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) and Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) downed Jonathan Young and Tyler Ruefenacht of Post 9-7 in the B flight quarterfinals before dropping an 8-6 decision to Chris Brosnan and Rich Degregoris of Holy Cross in the semifinals.  After dropping their quarterfinal match in the B flight, Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) and Evan Eaton (Winchester, Mass.) won the B consolation bracket, defeating Tyler Perron and Davis Streelman of Eastern Nazarene 8-5 and Young and Ruefenacht 8-5 in the final.
