NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Southern New
Hampshire men's cross country team placed 16th out
of 28 teams to capture its best finish at the UMass Dartmouth
Invitational 8k Saturday afternoon.
Four runners for the Penmen finished the race under the
30-minute mark, a program first. Jacob Wormald
(Pelham, N.H.) was the first finisher for SNHU placing
79th and completing the race in 28:21, with an average
mile time of 5:42. Thomas Dorwaldt (Albany,
N.Y.) finished second for the Penmen with a time of 28:35, while
Chris Low (Hudson, N.H.) finished just a minute
later at 29:30, and Matthew Reinhold (Candia,
N.H.) crossed the finish line just 16 seconds after Low, with a
time of 29:46.
The Penmen return to action next weekend, September 28, when
they travel to Franklin Park in Boston for the Codfish Bowl.
