Labonte Leads Penmen at Friday's New England Championships

Men's Cross Country finishes 18th in strong field

The Southern New Hampshire University men's cross country team turned in a determined effort against a strong New England field Friday afternoon, placing 18th overall at the 2025 NEICAAA Championships held at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.

KEY MOMENT
  • The Penmen compiled 543 points, finishing just ahead of Southern Maine and Bryant, and closely behind New Haven. Rhode Island captured the team title with 60 points.
NOTES
  • Senior Dillon Labonte (Lee, N.H.) led the Penmen with a standout run of 25:37.50, finishing 53rd overall in the 8K field.
  • Senior Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) was the second SNHU runner, clocking 26:33.78 for 128th place.
  • Junior Eric Sekyaya (Burlington, Mass.) followed in 26:43.17 to place 141st overall.
  • Freshman Roman Macedo (Pennsburg, Pa.) continued his strong rookie season, posting 27:34.41 for 187th.
  • Freshman Jackson Bock (Danbury, Conn.) rounded out the scoring in 29:13.06 (240th).
  • Junior Alex Labrecque (Hooksett, N.H.) also competed, finishing in 30:08.64 (248th).
  • Macedo, Bock, and Labreque all ran their fastest 8k races of the season on Friday.
  • A total of 257 runners completed the race.
