KEENE, N.H.
– The Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team
wrapped up the 2013 Northeast-10 Golf Championship tied for third
place out of 10 teams Monday. The Penmen carded a 312 on
Monday after registering a 307 in Sunday's first round to
finish at 619, 23 shots back of tournament champion Adelphi
University (596). Bentley University (301-307-608) finished
second, with American International College (308-311-619) finishing
tied for third with SNHU. Le Moyne College (314-311-625)
rounded out the top five.
Third place marks SNHU's
highest finish in the Northeast-10 Championship since 2009.
Senior Scott
Underhill (Bedford, N.H.) paced the Penmen, firing his
second consecutive 76 on Monday to finish tied for fifth overall
with a two-day total of 152, earning him NE-10 First Team
All-Conference honors. Junior Austin Fox
(Hooksett, N.H.) shot 76 on Monday after an opening-round 78 to
finish at 154, finishing in a tie for 11th overall to
earn Second Team All-Conference accolades.
Senior Vince
Kimball (Lebanon, N.H.) shot a 77 on Monday to finish with
a two-day total of 156, good for a tie for 18th in the
50-player field. Junior Ernie Lupi
(Bradford, Mass.) finished with a two-round score of 158 to finish
in a tie for 25th, while freshman John
Clancy (Sandwich, Mass.) posted a 161 over two rounds to
finish tied for 30th.
The Southern New Hampshire
men's golf team returns to action on October 14-15 when it
travels to the two-day, 54-hole Turning Stone Invitational in
Verona, N.Y.
