CONCORD, N.H. – Led by sophomore John Clancy's (Sandwich, Mass.) even-par 70, the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team sits fifth among 12 teams at the Northeast Challenge at Concord Country Club following Saturday's first round. Le Moyne College (296) leads, followed by Bentley University (301), Daemen College (302), Holy Cross (304) and SNHU (305).
Clancy was the lone player out of 60 to finish at par, as he holds a two-shot lead on four players who checked in with two-over 72s. Jake Nutter (Bedford, N.H.) sits tied for sixth with a three-over 73, while Austin Fox (Hooksett, N.H.) carded a 77 to finish in a tie for 17th.
Scott Underhill (Bedford, N.H.) and Ernie Lupi (Bradford, Mass.) finished at 85 and 88, respectively.
The second and final round of the Northeast Challenge tees off at 10 am on Sunday.
