CONCORD, N.H. – Junior Jake Nutter (Bedford, N.H.) finished tied for third overall as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team placed eighth among 12 schools at the Northeast Challenge at Concord Country Club as the two-day event wrapped up Sunday. The Penmen shot 324 on day two and finished at 629 for the tournament.
Le Moyne College (597) finished first, six strokes ahead of Bentley University. Le Moyne's Aiden Fuller grabbed medalist honors as he shot a three-under 67 on Sunday to finish at even-par 140 for the tournament.
Nutter carded a 74 on Sunday for a two-day total of 147 as he finished in a three-way tie for third. Austin Fox (Hooksett, N.H.) and John Clancy (Sandwich, Mass.) were two of three players tied for 19th at 156. Fox shot 79 on Sunday while Clancy was the day one leader at 70.
Scott Underhill (Bedford, N.H.) carded an 85 and Ernie Lupi (Bradford, Mass.) finished at 91 on Sunday.
The SNHU men's golf team returns to action Friday and Saturday when it travels to compete in the Saint Rose Fall Invitational in Guilderland, N.Y.
