NFCA TOP-25 POLL
MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University softball team was voted into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Top 25 Wednesday afternoon at No. 23. The top-25 ranking marks the first time a SNHU softball team has been ranked in program history.
After a 9-3 week in Clermont, Florida, the Penmen earned 60 points to sneak into the poll. Southern New Hampshire defeated three ranked teams in its time down in Florida with wins over Florida Tech and Grand Valley State, and a 6-5 win in extra innings over No. 22 ranked West Virginia Wesleyan.
As a team, the Penmen are hitting .309 while opponents are going .200 at the plate. In a total of 82 innings pitched, the pitching staff has amounted 82 strikeouts, 59 hits, 26 runs, and has a combined 1.71 ERA.
The Penmen are set to open up at home against Northeast-10 opponent Franklin Pierce for a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 19.
