MANORVILLE, N.Y. – Senior Scott Underhill (Bedford, N.H.) tied for medalist honors to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team to a second-place finish out of 13 teams at the Peter King Memorial contested Friday and Saturday at Rock Hill Golf Course. Saturday's second round was shortened to nine holes due to inclement weather.
Underhill tied with Keith Prokop for medalist honors, shooting a 72 on Friday and a 36 on Saturday for a score of 108. He was one of four golfers tied for the lead at 72 after Friday's first round.
As a team, the Penmen posted a score of 307 on Friday and a 156 on Saturday for a two-day total of 463, 10 shots back of tourney champion Nyack College. The Penmen were tied for second with Farmingdale State College.
Junior Jake Nutter (Bedford, N.H.) finished tied for seventh with a two-day total of 114, carding a 37 on Saturday after an opening-round 77. John Clancy (Sandwich, Mass.) and Austin Fox (Hooksett, N.H.) each finished with a two-day total of 121, while Ernie Lupi (Bradford, Mass.) finished at 126 over two rounds.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action April 4-5 at the Bentley Cape Cod Classic at the Atlantic Country Club in Plymouth, Mass.
