GOFFSTOWN, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University ran its win streak to five with a 6-3 non-conference men's tennis victory over the University of Southern Maine at the Allard Center Sunday evening. The Penmen improved to 11-2, while the Huskies are now 0-2 on the season.
Southern Maine took a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) and Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) were 8-2 victors over Kyle Curley and Max Wilkey at No. 1 for the Penmen point.
Southern New Hampshire was victorious at five of six singles flights to secure the victory. Dobek and Wallace were double winners on the evening, with Dobek taking down a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1, while Wallace won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3. Dragomir Zivanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 win at No. 6, while Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) and Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) were also winners at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively.
SNHU returns to action on Wednesday, March 19 when it faces Colby-Sawyer College in a match at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.
