PLYMOUTH, Mass. – The Southern New
Hampshire University men's golf team posted a tournament-low
300 on Saturday to finish second out of seven teams at the Bentley
University Cape Cod Classic held Friday and Saturday at the
Atlantic Country Club. The Penmen, who sat fourth after
Friday after carding a 331, finished 11 shots back of tournament
champion American International College (313-311-624).
SNHU was led by freshman John Clancy (Sandwich,
Mass.), who fired a one-under 71 on Saturday and finished fourth
overall with a two-day total of 154, five shots back of medalist
Austin Ball of AIC. Junior Jake Nutter
(Bedford, N.H.) carded an 80 on Friday and a 75 on Saturday to
finish at 155, good for a fifth place finish.
Senior Scott Underhill (Bedford, N.H.)
(85-76-161) and junior Austin Fox (Hooksett, N.H.)
(83-78-161) finished tied for 12th, while junior
Ernie Lupi (Bradford, Mass.) placed in a three-way
tie for 24th with a two-day total of 171.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action April 10-11 at the AIC
Invitational at Ludlow Country Club in Ludlow, Mass.
