CHARLESTON, W.V. – After two rounds at
the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship Atlantic/East
Regional, Southern New Hampshire University sits 13th
out of 20 teams. Junior Jake Nutter
(Bedford, N.H.), at -1 for the tournament, sits tied for fifth
overall.
Nutter and senior Scott Underhill (Bedford,
N.H.) each fired one-over 72s on Tuesday as the Penmen recorded a
team score of 304. Nutter sits in a three-way tie for fifth
as he makes a push to advance to nationals in Wednesday's
third and final round, which will be held May 19-23 at Meadows Golf
Course in Allendale, Mich. The top two individuals not
associated with an advancing team advance. Three of four
players ahead of Nutter, including tourney leader Zack Kempa of
Indiana (Pa.) (-4), are on teams that would currently advance, as
the top three teams move on.
Austin Fox (Hooksett, N.H.) shot a 79 on
Tuesday, while Ernie Lupi (Bradford, Mass.)
recorded an 81. John Clancy (Sandwich,
Mass.) posted an 85 in round two.
