Notes: Julie Munson was named the first head field hockey coach at SNHU in over 30 years on August 23, 2013...Prior to arriving at SNHU, Munson spent three seasons at Harvard University and six seasons at James Madison University... With the Crimson, Munson handled recruiting duties and served as acting head coach for the program in the spring of 2012 as Harvard went through a head coaching change...With the Dukes, Munson, a former collegiate goalkeeper at the University of New Hampshire, guided the team's goalies to lead the nation in goals against average (0.75) and shutouts (11) in 2008 while ranking second in save percentage (.820)...Munson played at New Hampshire from 2000-03 and was an assistant captain her senior season...SNHU joins the varsity ranks after spending several seasons at the club level...The Penmen become the 12th institution to sponsor field hockey in the Northeast-10 Conference...SNHU, formerly New Hampshire College, last competed as a varsity field hockey program from 1977-1981...The Penmen play their first game in over three decades on Thursday, when they welcome Roger Williams University to Larkin Field at 4:00...SNHU opens up Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday, September 13 at home against LIU Post at noon...The Pioneers advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship game in 2013.
