Notheast-10 Release
SOUTH EASTON, MASS. – Freshman Amaris Taylor (Tulsa, Okla.) of the Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team was named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Taylor registered four points in the Penmen's 4-2 season opening win against Roger Williams. With the score tied at one late in the first half, she found the back of the cage to give So. New Hampshire a lead it would never relinquish. In the second half, she assisted on the eventual game-winner and added a helper on the game's final goal.
In addition, Penmen junior Kaitlyn Ramsey (Warren, Mass.) was also honored by the Northeast-10. After handing out a team-high three assists against the Hawks, Ramsey was selected to the weekly honor roll.
The Penmen return to action on Saturday when they welcome No. 3 LIU Post to Larkin Field for a non-conference matchup at noon.
