NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman guard Catherine Stinson (Lynn, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team was named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.  It marks the first time this season Stinson has won the award.

In SNHU's lone game last week, a 65-61 win over regionally-ranked Merrimack College, Stinson finished with a career-best 14 points while also recording seven assists and grabbing seven rebounds. During Southern New Hampshire's current four-game win streak, Stinson is averaging 8.8 points per game.

One of four players, and the lone freshman, to start every game for the Penmen thus far in 2014-15, Stinson is averaging 7.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.  She has reached double figures in scoring four times and her 17 three-pointers rank second on the squad.
