Men's Tennis Prevails in NE-10 Opener

The Southern New Hampshire men's tennis team downed Saint Anselm 7-2 Thursday afternoon.

The Penmen held a 2-1 lead after doubles play, as Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) and Tiago Fernandes (Porto, Portugal) posted an 8-0 win at No. 1, while Sebastian Ramirez (Merida, Venezuela) and Jeremy Reichentahl (Cheshire, Conn.) were 8-5 winners at No. 2.

SNHU won at Nos. 1-5 singles, with Reichentahl a straight set winner at No. 5.  Aubron, Fernandes and Ramirez only dropped one game in their wins at No. 1, 2 and 3, respectively, while Max Georgeff (Toronto, Ontario) prevailed at No. 4 8-2.

Notes:
 - The win gives SNHU two more points in the Queen City Cup, the all-sport competition between the two Manchester rivals.
 - The Penmen improve to 11-3 all-time against the Hawks.

Thursday's match closed out the fall season for Southern New Hampshire.
