Score: Southern New Hampshire University (300-305-605), 2nd/12
The Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team finished second at the Franklin Pierce University Invitational at the Bretwood Golf Course Sunday and Monday. The Penmen carded a two-day total of 605, 10 strokes behind tournament champion Bentley University.
Senior Jake Nutter (Bedford, N.H.) led Southern New Hampshire, as he fired a final round 72 and a two-day score of 147 to finish second. Junior John Clancy (Sandwich, Mass.) also placed in the top-five after shooting back-to-back 75s to place fourth in a field of 59 student-athletes.
Sophomore Joshua LaCasse (Bow, N.H.) totaled a 153 on Sunday and Monday, which was good enough for No. 11 and freshman Gavin Dugas (Pittsfield, Maine) was tied for No. 17 with a 157. Freshman Etienne Bourgoin (Abington, Mass.) closed out the Penmen group with a total of 161, tying him for No. 31.
Notes:
- Nutter shot a score of even-par or better in a round for the third time this season, and posted his third top-five finish of the year.
- Assumption College (621), Nyack College (625) and Franklin Pierce "A" (635) rounded out the top-five.
- Bentley's Malcolm Oliver took medalist honors after shooting a 71 on Monday and totaling a 147.
