Notes: The Penmen are ranked as high as No. 11 in the various national preseason polls and were picked second in the Northeast-10 Northeast Division in a tight race with Franklin Pierce…SNHU returns seven All-Conference performers from a season ago, including sophomore closer Ben Criscuolo, who was a consensus First Team All-American as a freshman, the only freshman to appear on any of the All-America teams…Criscuolo was 6-0 with a school-record 14 saves and 0.90 ERA last season…three All-Conference performers return to the infield in Diaz, Mastroberti and Cruz…the offense should also be bolstered by several high-profile transfers…the Penmen open the season with a three-game series this weekend at Nova Southeastern, which is off to a 6-0 start and has appeared in some of the national polls…SNHU's home opener is slated for March 25 against Franklin Pierce…Austin and Shank were named interim co-head coaches last month following the departure of Scott Loiseau, who took an assistant coach position at the University of Oklahoma.
