PREVIEW: Women's Basketball Looks to Save Queen City Cup Split With Hawks

THE PENMEN: Southern New Hampshire is coming off a setback at No. 25 New Haven on Thursday night...Vic Wiseman leads the Penmen in scoring (11.6 ppg) and rebounding (6.3 rpg) while coming off the bench in all but two games this season..she leads Northeast-10 bench players in scoring...Brooke Springfield is scoring at a 9.0 ppg clip, while Sara Ryan has knocked down a team-high 29 three-pointers and is adding 8.9 ppg...Erin Doherty is registering 8.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest, while Catherine Stinson is recording 7.2 ppg.

HEAD COACH KAREN PINKOS: Karen Pinkos enters her 10th season as women's basketball coach at SNHU...a 1988 graduate of the University of New Hampshire who was an assistant at the Division I level for 16 years prior to coming to SNHU, Pinkos has guided the Penmen to six NE-10 Tournament appearances and won her 100th career game in the 2012-13 season.

THE HAWKS: Saint Anselm fell to American International 75-67 on Saturday...the Hawks are led by Caitlyn Abela, who has drained a team-high 57 three-pointers and is scoring at a 14.4 ppg clip...she is also grabbing 4.9 rebounds per game...Candace Andrews is recording 13.0 ppg to go along with 4.3 assists per outing, while Raquel Johnson is posting averages of 11.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game...Kaila Duarte is grabbing a team-best 10.2 rebounds per game while adding 8.6 ppg.

WHAT'S NEXT: SNHU returns home on Saturday when it hosts Merrimack in its annual "Penmen Pink Day" for breast cancer awareness...the Penmen then welcome Franklin Pierce on Tuesday.

NEWS AND NOTES: The 30 points allowed to Concordia on January 17 are a program record...the previous record low of 33 points allowed was set in November of 2009 against Saint Anselm...December 10's win over nationally-ranked Assumption was the first win for the Penmen over a nationally-ranked foe since the 2011-12 season...SNHU is 10-2 this season when scoring at least 60 points.
