MANCHESTER, N.H. – Members of the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team volunteered at the eighth annual New Hampshire Family Literacy Day this past Saturday, April 11. The event was held at Merrimack Valley Middle/High School in Penacook, N.H.
The event, sponsored by the Granite State Reading Council, promotes the goal of making reading more fun for local children. Each child in attendance received free books, had the opportunity to take part in face painting, wildlife encounters, meet and greets with local police and fire departments, as well as healthy snacks.
