Ali Maloof Named Daktronics/Division II CCA First Team All-America

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Senior Ali Maloof (Norwood, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University softball team has been named First Team All-America by the Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA), as the organization announced its All-America teams on Wednesday evening.

It marks the second time in her career Maloof has been named a Daktronics/Division II CCA All-American, as she was tabbed to the Honorable Mention team a season ago. She is the only All-American in the history of the Penmen softball program.

Maloof put the finishing touches on a standout career at Southern New Hampshire with a selection as a First Team pitcher. A standout in the circle and at the plate, Maloof was named both the Northeast-10 Conference and Daktronics/Division II CCA East Region Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year, and First Team All-East Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). She finished the season 24-4 with a 1.38 earned run average in 188 1/3 innings pitched. Maloof hurled 25 complete games, struck out 207 hitters and held opponents to a .186 batting average. She averaged 7.69 strikeouts per seven innings, tossed eight shutouts and had a strikeout to walk ratio of 5.05-to-one. Maloof finished the season ranked in the top-20 of NCAA Division II in five pitching categories.

Offensively, Maloof hit at a .393 clip with six doubles, four triples and four home runs. She rapped out 59 hits, drove in 24 runs, scored 34 times and struck out just four times in 150 plate appearances.

Maloof graduates as the program leader in hits (234), runs scored (135), triples (11), batting average (.374), strikeouts (808) and innings pitched (711). She also ranks second in career games played (179), third all-time in doubles (32) and ERA (1.82), and sixth in both RBI (72) and stolen bases (22).

Southern New Hampshire concluded the most successful season in program history with a school-best 35-9 record and a berth in the NCAA East Super Regional. The Penmen set a new benchmark for wins, captured their first regional championship and made their first-ever appearance in the Super Regional. Southern New Hampshire also claimed its third consecutive Northeast-10 Northeast Division crown and second-straight NE-10 Tournament championship.
