Score: Southern New Hampshire (310-308-618), 2nd/11
The Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team finished second at the Division II Challenge which it hosted at the Quechee Club Highlands Course Friday and Saturday.
The Penmen finished with a two-day total of 618, two strokes behind tournament champion Le Moyne College. The Penmen and Dolphins entered Saturday tied for the top spot.
Senior Jake Nutter (Bedford, N.H.) led the Penmen on day two, carding a two-over 74 and finished tied for fifth overall with a two-day total of 153. Nutter was tied with teammate John Clancy (Sandwich, Mass.), who followed his 76 on Friday with a 77 on Saturday.
Josh LaCasse (Bow, N.H.) finished tied for 13th after firing his second straight 79, while Gavin Dugas (Pittsfield, Maine) was one shot back of LaCasse, posting a 78 Saturday and finishing tied for 15th. Etienne Bourgoin (Abington, Mass.) finished with a two-day total of 166.
Notes:
- Bentley University (629) and Dowling College (636) finished third and fourth, while Assumption College and The College of Saint Rose tied for fifth with a score of 647.
- Bentley's Malcolm Oliver fired a one-under 71 Saturday and took down medalist honors, besting Aidan Fuller of Le Moyne by five strokes with a 145.
What's Next:
The Northeast-10 Men's Golf Championship takes place next Sunday and Monday at En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, N.Y. The Penmen finished third in last season's event.
