NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Sarah Lavallee (Candia, N.H.) of the Southern New Hampshire University softball team has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week, which was announced by the league office on Monday.

Lavallee picked up her first career Pitcher of the Week accolade after going 3-0 with a pair of shutouts in the circle for the Penmen last week. She helped guide Southern New Hampshire to a 4-2 start at the National Training Center (NTC) Spring Games in Clermont, Florida with a 0.54 earned run average in 25.2 innings of work. Lavallee struck out 20 hitters, surrendered just two walks and scattered 20 hits in three complete games and one relief appearance. She set a career-high with seven strikeouts against Edinboro University on Saturday (March 12) and fanned at least six in each of her three starts.

The Penmen resume play in the NTC Spring Games on Tuesday (March 15) when they travel to Melbourne, Florida to take on Wayne State University of Michigan (13-2) and No. 27 Florida Institute of Technology (23-9) at 1:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
