Senior Jake Nutter (Bedford, N.H.) shot a 73 on Tuesday and then won the individual crown in a playoff to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team to a first-place finish at the Barton Intercollegiate, hosted by Barton College at Wilson Country Club.
The Penmen, who sat in a three-way tie atop the leaderboard with a 293 following Monday's first round, totaled a 592 with a 299 in Tuesday's round, while Barton finished second with a 604 after a final round of 300.
Nutter matched his Monday round of 73 and found himself in a three-way tie at 146 with freshman Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) and the University of Mount Olive's Brady Hollenbacker. Paradis, who fired a 72 in the opening round, finished up with a 74 on Tuesday, while Hollenbacker used a 71 in the final round to make up for his 75 on Monday.
Nutter and Hollenbacker each made par on the first playoff hole to move on after Paradis made bogey. On the second hole, Nutter made par again following a Hollenbacker bogey to earn the individual title. Paradis finished tied for second.
Junior John Clancy (Sandwich, Mass.) carded a 76 to finish tied for fifth with a 149, while freshman Gavin Dugas (Pittsfield, Maine) rounded out the scorers for SNHU with a 76 that placed him in a tie for 14th overall at 151.
Notes:
- The Barton Intercollegiate is comprised of 89 student-athletes from 17 institutions.
- The win marks the fourth tournament title of the season for the Penmen, who also captured the Le Moyne Fall Preview, the Northeast-10 Championship and the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship.
- Sophomore Josh LaCasse (Bow, N.H.) finished tied for 42nd with a 158 after posting an 80.

The Penmen are back in action Monday-Tuesday, April 4-5 for The Trojan at Walnut Creek Country Club in Goldsboro, N.C.
