Box Score

BOX SCORE

When and Where: March 26, 2016 – Syracuse, N.Y. (Ted Grant Field)
Score: No. 2 Le Moyne College 17, Southern New Hampshire University 5
Records: Le Moyne 7-0 (3-0 Northeast-10), SNHU 1-4 (0-3 Northeast-10)

Senior Cameron Joyce (Braintree, Mass.) and junior Keifer Heckman (Peabody, Mass.) each tallied a goal and an assist, but a six-goal run to open the game fueled second-ranked Le Moyne College to a 17-5 win over Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 Conference men's lacrosse action at Ted Grant Field on Saturday.

The Dolphins staked themselves to a 3-0 lead through one quarter of play before netting three straight scores to start the second. Mike Jenkins scored the first goal of the contest with help from Logan Thomas at 1:02, and he returned the favor by setting up Thomas on the man-advantage with 12:14 remaining. After Cade Kelleher found the back of the net with two seconds to go in the opening stanza, Andrew Jackson and Matt Taylor scored extra-man goals just 29 seconds apart to extend Le Moyne's lead to five at 3:38 of the second before Mike Fiorini capped the run with 9:44 left before the half.

The Penmen answered with back-to-back goals midway through the quarter, as Joyce found Heckman for his 10th of the year just over eight minutes in. Joyce followed with his team-leading 13th of the season at 9:30 to trim the deficit to 6-2, but a pair of markers from Jenkins to close the half provided the hosts with an 8-2 edge heading into the locker room.

Jenkins opened the second half with his fourth and fifth goals of the afternoon, which sparked a five-goal spurt to put the game out of reach at 13-2. Sophomore Devin Calkins (Bow, N.H.) stopped the run at 12:28, but three unanswered goals by the Dolphins over the final 1:42 of the third and first four minutes of the fourth made it 16-3. Sophomore Chris West (Albany, N.Y.) and junior Will Thompson (Southington, Conn.) sandwiched single tallies around a Le Moyne strike in the fourth to provide the final margin of scoring.

Sophomore Michael Brawley (Tewksbury, Mass.) stopped eight shots in the Southern New Hampshire cage, while Alex Krawec and Kyle Lumpe combined to make 14 saves for the Dolphins.

Notes:
- Junior Patrick Goff (Nashua, N.H.) was 6-for-14 at the faceoff X to lead the Penmen, as they won 8-of-24 trips in the contest.
- Le Moyne maintained a 52-33 edge in shots, which included a 25-19 advantage in shots on goal.

What's Next:
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Wednesday (March 30) when it hosts Bentley University (3-1, 2-0 Northeast-10) in an NE-10 tilt at 7 p.m. on Larkin Field.
