When and Where: April 2, 2016 – Manchester, N.H. (Larkin Field)
Score: Southern New Hampshire University 16, College of Saint Rose 9
Records: SNHU 3-4 (2-3 Northeast-10), Saint Rose 2-8 (0-5 Northeast-10)

Senior Cameron Joyce (Braintree, Mass.) registered a game-high six points to help lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's lacrosse team to a 15-9 triumph against the College of Saint Rose on Saturday afternoon at Larkin Field.

Joyce scored five times and handed out an assist and was supported by four goals from junior Keifer Heckman (Peabody, Mass.).

The Penmen wasted no time jumping on the board as Heckman found the back of the net off a feed from junior Scott Lavey (Wading River, N.Y.) just nine seconds into the contest to make it 1-0. Southern New Hampshire doubled its lead just 42 seconds later on an unassisted strike from Joyce.

SNHU again doubled its lead with unassisted strikes from Heckman and senior Eric Johnson (W. Suffield, Conn.) to open up a 4-0 advantage with 8:47 remaining in the opening quarter. Sophomore Cam Rewucki (Dover, N.H.) set up a goal for junior Daniel Trainor (Billerica, Mass.) with just 24 seconds on the clock and then Heckman added his third of the frame just nine seconds later to bring a 6-0 lead into the second stanza.

After Joyce scored under two minutes in off a pass from sophomore Dan Malave (Wading River, N.Y.), the Golden Knights finally jumped on the board as a shot from Connor Moore was knocked down by the Southern New Hampshire defense, but the ball bounced past junior goalkeeper Tyler Walsh (Northampton, Mass.) and into the net. The teams would swap scores to close the first-half scoring and the Penmen would hold an 8-2 lead at the break.

Saint Rose would come out of the locker room fired up as it potted five of the first seven goals to slash its deficit to 10-7 with under four minutes to play in the third quarter. With Saint Rose owning all the momentum and a locked-in, two-minute man-up opportunity with which to work, the Southern New Hampshire defense came up with a huge stop and began a run the other way that ended with Joyce feeding Heckman for a man-down goal with just 18 ticks on the clock that settled things down and gave the Penmen an 11-7 lead after three.

Joyce and the Golden Knights twice alternated scores to begin the final frame and push the score to 14-9 with just over five minutes left, but SNHU put the game away with goals from Rewucki, sophomore Mark Beirne (Hooksett, N.H.) and Malave over a span of 3:08.

Rewucki and Trainor each finished with a goal and two assists, while Malave added a score and a helper.
