BALTIMORE BLAST RELEASE
BALTIMORE, Md. – Former Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer forward Sofiane Tergou (Bitche, France) scored two goals and an assist as the Baltimore Blast claimed their eighth Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) Championship with a 14-13 overtime win against Soles De Sonora on Friday night.
In five regular-season games this season for the Blast, Tergou recorded six points on three goals and three assists. He then matched that exact output over six playoff contests. The Blast finished the regular season 15-4, capturing the Eastern Division crown with the third best record in the league, before going 6-0 in the playoffs to earn their first title since 2012.
Tergou was the leading scorer for the Penmen this past fall with eight goals and 12 assists for 28 points. Tergou ranked second in the Northeast-10 in assists and points, seventh in game-winning goals (3) and eighth in total goals. Tergou garnered selections to the NSCAA All-America and All-East Region First Team, CCA All-America Third Team, CCA All-East Region First Team and Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team, in addition to be chosen as the Northeast-10 Player of the Year.
The MASL is a North American indoor professional soccer league with 20 teams across the United States and Mexico.
