Senior Mo Hannan (Scarborough, Maine) delivered a walk off single in the bottom of the seventh inning of game two to cap off the Southern New Hampshire University softball team's senior day sweep of Bentley University at the SNHU Softball Field on Saturday. The Penmen, who honored their three graduating seniors in a pregame ceremony, topped the Falcons, 3-2, in game one before taking the finale by a score of 1-0.

After neither side was able to crack the scoreboard through the first six and a half innings, Hannan stepped in with a runner on second and two outs with a chance to author a storybook ending in her final regular season game at the SNHU Softball Field. The senior captain tagged the first pitch she saw up the middle and sophomore Kailey March (East Taunton, Mass.) came around to score the winning run to send the Class of 2016, one of the most successful in program history, off with a win in its final home contest.

Sophomore Sarah Lavallee (Candia, N.H.) hurled a complete-game, one-hit shutout to improve to 15-5 in the circle. Lavallee, who led off the seventh inning with a base hit before being lifted for a pinch runner, fanned six and lowered her ERA to a miniscule 1.40.

Hannan finished 2-for-3 in game two, while Lavallee senior Lindsey Bolduc (Londonderry, N.H.), junior Erin Morrissey (Commack, N.Y.) and sophomore Brittany Perdigao (Stoughton, Mass.) each picked up a hit.

Junior Nicole Gubellini (Salem, N.H.) earned the win in the opener, as she went the distance and allowed two runs on five hits while striking out seven.

The game went scoreless through the first four and half innings before the Penmen grabbed a 1-0 lead in the fifth. Morrissey reached on a one-out single before freshman Dianna Jamgochian (Arlington, Mass.) came in to pinch run. Junior Devan Rabidou (Ashland, Mass.) dropped a sacrifice bunt attempt to advance the runner, but the throw to first sailed high and wide of the bag and allowed Jamgochian to scamper to third. Junior Jessica Torsiello (Morris Plains, N.J.) capitalized on the miscue by lofting a sacrifice fly to shallow left that pushed across the game's first run.

After a shutdown inning from Gubellini in the top of the sixth that featured a pair of swinging strikeouts to end the frame, Southern New Hampshire tacked on two more runs in the bottom half with two outs. Bolduc crushed a solo shot to straightaway center to make it 2-0 before freshman Erin Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.) doubled and senior Katie Caruso (Newton, Mass.) was hit by a pitch. With runners on first and second, Morrissey laced an RBI single up the middle to drive in the second run of the inning and third of the day.

Bentley would not go quietly, however, as it attempted to mount a late comeback. Kelsey Kennedy led off the seventh with an infield single before Chelsea Vena worked a walk two batters later. After a fielder's choice left runners on the corners with two outs, back-to-back singles by Jill Raia and Katelyn Lebreaux cut the Penmen advantage to a single run. It would be as close as the Falcons would get, as Gubellini slammed the door with a strikeout to end the game.

Notes:
- The win in Saturday's first game clinched Southern New Hampshire's fourth-straight Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division title. The Penmen have received a bye to the Northeast-10 Championship weekend, and will travel to the top seed in the Southwest Division. The Championship field will be announced by the Conference office on Sunday.
- With her solo homer in game one, Bolduc is now tied with Kate Stanley for the program's all-time RBI record (108).

What's Next:
Southern New Hampshire will await the release of the Northeast-10 Championship bracket on Sunday (April 24), which will reveal the location and opponent of its next contest.
