SNHU will now host third-seeded Adelphi, which knocked off second-seeded Merrimack, 5-1, Friday, on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the Northeast-10 Championship.

Southern New Hampshire led 2-1 following doubles as sophomores Miguel Marreiros (Portimao, Portugal) and Tiago Fernandes (Porto, Portugal) doubled up their opponents, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles and sophomores Ricardo Marreiros and Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) posted an 8-0 victory at No. 2. Sophomores Sebastian Ramirez (Merida, Valenzuela) and Jeremy Reichentahl (Cheshire, Conn.) were narrowly edged at No. 3 doubles, 9-8 (7-1).

Aubron and Fernandes gave the Penmen a 4-1 advantage with 6-0, 6-3 wins at No. 3 against Dylan Granat and No. 4 against Chase Rosa, respectively. George Samander pulled out a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 triumph against Miguel Marreiros to bring the Falcons within 4-2.

Momentum seemed to be shifting as Brendan McCarthy answered Ricardo Marreiros' 6-2 first-set victory with a 6-1 win in the second set, but Marreiros recovered and registered a 6-3 match-clinching win in the third set.

Ramirez led Michael Fuca, 6-1, 1-0, at No. 5 singles when the match was settled, while Reichentahl trailed Daniel Camacho, 5-1, in a 6-6 first-set tiebreaker at No. 6 singles.
