BOX SCORE

When and Where: April 30, 2016 – Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. (Pace Field)
Score: #1 SW Pace University 7, #1 NE Southern New Hampshire University 4
Records: SNHU 26-13, Pace 28-14

Senior Mo Hannan (Scarborough, Maine) finished 2-for-4 with a doubles and classmate Lindsey Bolduc (Londonderry, N.H.) connected on a three-run home run, but a four-run bottom of the sixth inning lifted Pace University to a 7-4 victory over Southern New Hampshire University in the 2016 Northeast-10 Conference Championship final at Pace Field on Saturday.

Bolduc, who broke the career RBI record in Saturday's semifinal, went 1-for-3 with a walk in the finale, while sophomore Sarah Lavallee (Candia, N.H.) added two hits in three trips to the plate. Junior Jessica Torsiello (Morris Plains, N.J.) and sophomore Brittany Perdigao (Stoughton, Mass.) were each 1-for-3, with Torsiello adding an RBI and Perdigao scoring a run.

After the game went scoreless through the first two and a half innings, the Setters used a two-run shot off the bat of Ashley Lew in the bottom of the third to grab a 2-0 lead.

The Penmen wasted little time in answering, as they cut the deficit in half during their next turn at the dish. Junior Devan Rabidou (Ashland, Mass.) worked a two-out walk before moving to second on a wild pitch and advancing to third on a throwing error by the catcher. Torsiello followed with a base hit down the line in right that plated Rabidou and made it a 2-1 game.

It would be as close as Southern New Hampshire would get, however, as Pace responded with five unanswered runs to extend its advantage to 7-1 through six. Jordan Chillinsky shot an RBI single through the middle in the fourth to reestablish a two-run edge before the Setters used a pair of home runs in the sixth to balloon the lead to six. After Larissa Labs sent a two-run tater out to left center, Haley Hernandez followed suit two batters later to effectively put the game out of reach.

SNHU attempted to mount a comeback in the seventh with a two-out rally. Perdigao and Hannan tagged back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners for Bolduc, and she drilled a three-run bomb to left to trim the Pace lead to three. It would prove to be too little too late, as Jaclyn Flores induced a fly out to the ensuing batter to close out the contest.

Flores upped her record to 8-4 after allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits while walking two and striking out one in a complete-game effort. Lavallee surrendered five runs on eight hits and fanned seven in 5.1 innings to move to 16-5.

Notes:
- Bolduc became the all-time RBI leader in Southern New Hampshire University history on Saturday after driving in five runs in two games. She entered the day tied for the program lead with Kate Stanley '13, and after her two-run homer in the semifinal gave her sole possession of first place, she extended her lead with a three-run shot in the final.
- Bolduc and classmate Katie Caruso (Newton, Mass.) earned All-Championship team laurels. The senior captains were joined by Labs, Flores and Victoria Quinones, also of Pace.
