Score: Southern New Hampshire University (908), 4th/9
Sophomore Joshua LaCasse (Bow, N.H.) and senior Jake Nutter (Bedford, N.H.) tied for sixth overall at 6-over to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team to a fourth-place showing Tuesday at The Trojan, hosted by the University of Mount Olive at Lane Tree Golf Club.
After sitting fifth with a 602 following Monday's two round, the Penmen shot a 306 to total a 908 – six strokes ahead of Barton College. Newberry College finished first with a 14-under 850.
LaCasse, who carded an even-par 144 through Monday, shot a 78 Tuesday to finish with a 222. Nutter fired a 73 Tuesday – matching his first-round score – adding to Monday's 149 as he climbed six spots to finish in the sixth-place tie with LaCasse at 222.
Freshman Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.), who entered the day with a 155, posted a 76 to finish in a tie for 22nd with a 231. Junior John Clancy (Sandwich, Mass.) recorded a 236 after carding a 79 Tuesday to finish 29th.
Notes:
- Freshman Gavin Dugas (Pittsfield, Maine) tied for 30th with a 237 as he shot a 79 Tuesday.
- The Trojan was comprised of 46 student-athletes from nine institutions.
What's Next:
The Penmen are back in action April 10-11 at Le Moyne College's Mike Bello Spring Invitational at Timber Banks Golf Club in Baldwinsville, N.Y.
