Freshman Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.), senior Jake Nutter (Bedford, N.H.) and junior John Clancy (Sandwich, Mass.) all carded 1-over 73s on Wednesday as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team sits in 17th-place after two rounds of the NCAA National Championship, hosted by Metro State University of Denver at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club.
The Penmen, who came in three strokes lower than their opening-round total, finished with a 294 to put them at 591 heading into the third round. SNHU is currently 12 strokes back of Thursday's eighth-place cut line. Saint Leo University continues to lead as it is 25-under with a 551.
Paradis, who shot 1-under par Tuesday, went 1-over Wednesday and is now even at 144 through two rounds and sits in 28th place.
Nutter fired a 73 for the second consecutive day and is in 48th place at 2-over 146.
Clancy improved on a round-one 78 with his 73 and is now in 73rd, overall, with a 151.
Freshman Gavin Dugas (Pittsfield, Maine) equaled Tuesday's 75 with another round of 3-over and is 68th at 6-over 150 for the tournament
Notes:
- Southern New Hampshire is making its first appearance ever at the NCAA National Championship.
- Sophomore Joshua LaCasse (Bow, N.H.) is in 107th with a 161 after bettering his opening-round performance by one stroke with an 80.
- The NCAA National Championship is comprised of 108 student-athletes from 28 different institutions. The 20 schools competing as a team advanced from four regional sites. The top eight after the first three rounds will move on to match play.

The Penmen will tee off at the third round of the NCAA National Championship on Thursday, May 19 at 8:25 p.m.
